Events Plus is the events management company that excels in event logistics - designing and delivering successful business events that exceed your expectations and delight your guests.
Hi, I’m Judie, a freelance event manager based in Hertfordshire. I have been organising UK and international business events of all shapes and sizes for more than 25 years.
Why? Because I love it. And I’m good at it!
Organising events can be stressful and infuriating, but also rewarding. Hard work and good fun is an intoxicating combination. Achieving success, sometimes against the odds, is addictive.
As a freelance event manager, I look after your event from start to finish. You won’t be handed over to someone else in the organisation; clients put their trust in me to devise and deliver their events for them.
Each event is unique. Each client’s requirements are different. My job is to make the difference between a good event, and an excellent one.
When months of planning comes together…and you get that “zing thing” when everything clicks into place and the client gives you a thumbs up across a packed auditorium. That’s when you forget the hairier moments in the months before.
It’s a personal thing – I like to do a good job.
Not true - I like to do an exceptional job.
My skill is in event logistics and production – pulling all the strings together, making sense of all the information and collating it into a workable plan to make your event a success.
It involves creative input, logical thinking, strict timelines, budget control and good people management to turn the concept into reality.
I can help you with event ideas to get you started or look after the full project from start to finish. Think of me as an on-tap event resource, available to work with your in-house team or ready to take on the event project independently.
Flexibility is what freelancing is all about.
There are always unexpected things that try to throw you off track, which need to be dealt with quickly and quietly. Dealing with “stuff”, unseen by the client, has always been one of my strengths.
Lovely clients come back to me year after year to create a completely new event or to breathe new life into an annual event. The fun of being a freelancer is to think beyond the normal; to add little touches to make your event that much more special, or unusual.
I love thinking round the what-ifs, imagining myself as a guest or delegate and looking at the best way to ensure their experience is truly memorable.
Events are all about people.
That’s what enticed me into this business and one of the main reasons I enjoy it. I love meeting people and am good at talking to strangers – whether in my professional job as an event manager or as a volunteer; sharing a tea and a story with older folk, or driving the community bus. I have built my events business through nurturing effective relationships with great suppliers and professionals in the events industry – venues, designers, copywriters, tech teams, photographers, front of house staff, entertainers.
I like to put myself in others’ shoes to help me plan the event: How we want people to feel when they receive the invitation, when they arrive, while they’re at the event, when they leave. To me, it’s about making them feel welcome and valued…and about connecting on a personal level.
